Goodbye, 2014!

Here's to 2015 being the best year yet!

My simple business goals for 2015 are as follows:
• Grow my Etsy shop and sales
(This was my worst year yet for Etsy - and I have to figure out why.
Though I have a feeling Promoted Listings and many of Etsy's growing pains are to blame.)

• Find the "new" Etsy and start selling there. The one that promotes handmade. No mass marketers. The new online marketplace that's like the Etsy of 2011. Ahh, one can dream, right?

• Rework the shop and add new items, more invitations and digital files

• Take inventory on where my time is being poorly spent
(Better time management equals more time for naps!)

• Maintain a business budget

Maybe I'll blog more, maybe I won't. I'm trying not to set too many goals. But I do like keeping you all updated, and I have some really great DIY projects in the works.
So maybe you WILL hear more from me in 2015 :)

In the meantime, see what I'm DIY'ing, lusting after, and planning by following me

I'm Baaaa-aaaack!

After an almost year-long hiatus from the blog, I'm back! For how long? Who knows. What brought me out of retirement? The DIY Trunk Show! One of the biggest shows I've done to date.

Join me at the Broadway Armory tomorrow (Saturday, November 22) from 10 am to 5pm.
I'll be there with SO MANY art prints and special items that will make the perfect gift!
Added bonus: crazy amounts of clearance prints ($5 each!)

I'll be at booth number 6 (just to the left of the main entrance!)

Walking distance from several CTA stops. Street parking available.

This is happening TONIGHT! Craft Bar's Handmade Holiday

Waldo from Wizard at Work will be showing us how to make personalized mini soaps (a favorite from our “Pamper Yourself” event!)
Gina from Queen Destiny will walk us through a wire-wrapped jewelry craft.
Feel like getting your stitch on? Mignonette’s own KP will show you how to stitch stationery with the fabulous Bernina B350 sewing machines! Not comfortable with those fancy machines? Lisa (that's me!) from Grass Green Design will show you how to hand stitch and stamp the perfect gift tag or holiday card.
These crafts are sure to be the perfect handmade holiday gift for loved ones.. or yourself!
As always, Craft Bar Chicago is just $5 for all materials and instruction, so join us to shop, style, sip, and sparkle your way into winter!

Handmade Gift Exchange

I participated in the Craftaholics Anonymous Handmade Gift Exchange again! This year I went for the International draw, and was paired with a crafter from Germany. How fun! I just dropped the handmade statement necklaces at the post office, but I'll share the pics here...

I used this tutorial as inspiration:

The Craftiest Chicago Weekend Of The Year!

A whole bunch of crafty awesomeness will take place the first weekend in December. Clear your schedules, Chicago! (And get ready to shell out some cash on handmade goodness.)

Craft Bar staff will be on hand at the One Of A Kind Show and Sale December 5-8
through the Etsy Meet and Make Partnership.

This is one of my favorite events of the year. Get there early.
(Take public transportation. Parking in that area is nearly impossible.)

Local Goods Chicago (where you can buy most of my art and greeting cards) is celebrating their
1 Year Anniversary on December 6th
